This is the story of life with my two dogs. Lightning was adopted as a puppy from a PetSmart pet adoption event when we stopped there to buy food for our Golden Retriever. Thumper had been found in bad shape by a local rescue organization. After a couple months of recuperation, his foster family took him to pet adoption day, where I saw him while shopping at the local PetSmart for dog food. Maybe I should sign up for Petflow instead.....

Bad Weather
We had a really rough day yesterday. There was lots of bad weather, and by night time, we were tired! Mom felt so bad for us that she even let Thumper stay on the bed. Our boy got home from school early because of the bad weather. From what we heard, a bunch of houses near his school got hurt and the school lost lights. We were so glad to see him! He gave us pets and made us feel better.

Strange Happenings
Lightning here...writing update since mom seems to have forgotten how to. Our weekend was full of strange things. First Mom left us home with dad and the big brother. We were lucky to get food and water. Then dad moved Thumpers crate to the garage. I was about to celebrate until he put both of us out there and left. What was that for? Its not like I pooped in the house or something. We ignored dad after that. We were glad the big brother was there to snuggle with instead. Then they started waking up when it's still dark. This has confused me and Thumper. We thought we had to wait until the sun comes up to do our business! Are any of your people doing this? Have a good week. Excuse my typos - I don't have thumbsx. We are glad all our people are home niw.
Update: Dad put the dogs in the garage while he fumigated the house for flies that Mom brought in with some grapes (we won't be going to that store again).

The Candy Box
Some naughty dog made a mess this morning. They had been out and had been fed, and they should have been asleep again. Instead, I found a chewed box on the floor....the Dad had left it by his computer on a table last night. The box had contained chocolate covered almonds (but they had been eaten last night thank goodness). This morning the ends were chomped off and shreds of box were all around it. I wonder which naughty dog it was...possibly Mr. I'm-the-Good-Dog (aka Lightning)? Hmmmmm...

A Dog's Plan for Monday
Can you leave the TV on so I can watch the Daytona 500 while you are at work? Please? And can I have a Milkbone too?

Sniffs
I took this picture yesterday. I'm not sure what they were sniffing for. Maybe their favorite pesky squirrel has ventured to the gate. Or maybe one started sniffing nothing and the other one didn't want to be left out. I really like how their colors show in this picture.

Sad
I'm so sad today. For years one of my favorite hobbies has been scrapbooking. I've got albums from my kids school years, family vacations, holidays, treasured pages of my Golden who passed on in 2007, and plans for so much more. I became friends with the lady who owned the local scrapbook store, and going there felt like visiting family.
She sent a message out earlier today that she is closing her store. After struggling with the economy for the last 18 months, her dream is closing. I am sad for her.
And I'm at work today, now bummed out and sad, with no pups to give me "it'll be OK" licks, waiting for a two hour meeting to start. It's definitely a sad Tuesday here. If you are home with your dogs, take a moment and give them a hug for being awesome Comforters. I'll hug mine as soon as I get home.
