It's been 5 years...

It's been 5 years since we lost our Golden Retriever, Dusty, to cancer. He had a mast cell tumor on his foot. It was very aggressive and, thankfully, he did not suffer long.

I still miss him everyday. He was my heart dog. Seems like many of the bloggers I follow have had their pets pass recently. Maybe that's what got me thinking about Dusty, or maybe I just need higher dosage meds. :/

My condolences and prayers for peace for anyone coping with the loss of a pet. Grief sucks.

  1. My first dog, Shadow, who was a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever cross, will have been gone two years on June 15th. I still think about her, write about her, remember her.... That is not a negative thing.
My heart goes out to you. Because, you're correct, "grief sucks". And so does cancer.... :-(
    Hugs!!
Love, Raelyn.... And Rose, my BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE "Mystery Dog"!!

    1. Thanks, Raelyn. What does a GS/GR mix behave like? I'm sure she was beautiful.

  2. Grief does suck!! I sorry about Dusty. He was a beautiful dog. You must have loved him deeply. April 16th was 2 years since we lost our Barney and I still miss him everyday too.

  3. I'm so sorry - they never really leave you, do they? I lost my Daisy over 11 years ago and there are days I still feel her next to me.

    1. That says it well-I looked at Maxdog website after seeing Sam reading his book. It was very touching. Pets to Sam and Monty.
